The project

Nine days of contemporary art at Schloss Balmoral and across the town of Bad Ems, with free entry. For the Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral, we designed and built the website for Bad Biennale 2026 – straight from the flyer design, with puce pink, neon green and the motto “Tricksters, unite!”.

It mattered that the biennial team could maintain the site themselves: every page is made of editable blocks, and there are ready-made templates for new artists. We onboarded the team and supported them while they filled in the content.

What we did

  1. 01

Web design based on the biennial’s flyer design

  2. 02

Homepage with motto, programme, artists, partner logos and a spinning JOIN! button shaped like the Balmoral flower

  3. 03

Artist pages plus five templates the team can fill in themselves

  4. 04

Menu structure About · Artists · Programme · Contact

  5. 05

Cookie consent and a tidy backend without demo content

  6. 06

Rebuild into freely editable blocks and team onboarding

  7. 07

    Domain connection and go-live

What it achieved

A website that looks like the biennial – and that the team has in their own hands.

  • A consistent look from flyer to website
  • The biennial team maintains content, programme and artist pages themselves, without code
  • Partners and funders visible at a glance

Impact

  • Programme, dates and venues of the biennial in one place
  • Artists with their own pages for work and bio
  • Quick onboarding instead of dependence on an agency
